ANDREW ABBOTT
Senior Director of Worship and ProductionAndrew was born and raised in London, Ontario where he grew up in a Christian home with his 11 brothers and sisters. In the early years, Andrew’s family attended and was very involved at Summerside Community Church and these years were very informative in molding Andrew’s faith journey. Andrew accepted Christ at a Word of Life rally when he was 13 years old.
In the summer of 2014, Andrew married his beautiful wife Jennifer, who is a Shift Supervisor at Starbucks and is now an active member of the Canadian Armed Forces working in FSA. They have two wonderful, joy-filled, and ambitious children, Kia Mariyah Abbott (9) and Oliver Kai Abbott (8). Kia loves singing and gymnastics and Oliver loves playing video games and hockey.
In previous years, Andrew has had success in the Christian Music Industry where he had opportunities to play with artists like TobyMac, Lecrae, and Tim & The Glory Boys. Andrew has previously been an ambassador for Compassion Canada and has received 10 GMA Covenant Award nominations for his original music over the years.
Through Andrew’s musical journey, he has had the opportunity to lead worship at many churches. God has given him a passion not only for music and performing but also for congregational worship. He believes that leading worship is simple, by pointing people to what Christ has done for us through his death and resurrection. That’s why we worship him, so as a worship leader it’s his goal to proclaim that in spirit and truth.
