Who then is this?
Everybody is afraid of something. What about you, what is your biggest fear? Is it spiders? Snakes? Or how about falling from the sky? According to most surveys, the biggest fear that people have is actually public speaking. As someone who speaks publicly at least once a week, I can attest to that. You never really get used to the heaviness of standing in front of people and speaking, let alone when it comes to preaching the Word and doing so faithfully. But in this, as in all other things, it is imperative that we rely on and trust in God.
Join us this Sunday as we look through Mark 4:35-5:20. Through the description of some strange and crazy events we will discover how true peace can only be found in Christ Jesus, and it only comes when we accept him for who he is; he is the only, all-powerful, mighty God.

Text: Mark 4:35-5:20
December 8, 2024
Jesus is the all powerful and sovereign God, but is he my God?
Or am I gripped by fear? (v. 4:35-41)
Or am I filled with frustration? (v. 5:1-13)
Ephesians 6:12-13
What could have been worse than this? They too were scattered, and here is a shepherd to collect them – or rather, it is God who stretches out his arms, through his Son, to embrace and carry to heave those who were overwhelmed by the darkness of death. They choose rather to be deprived of the salvation that is offered to them than to endure any longer the presence of Christ. ~ John Calvin, Harmony of the Gospels
Am I surrendered in faith? (v. 5:14-20)
