Over the next four weeks, we’ll be diving into the Old Testament book of Jonah. The story of Jonah is one that many of us have heard countless times, especially the part about him being swallowed by a giant fish, right? And even though we’re familiar with it, there are some intriguing questions the book raises, such as: Is Jonah a good guy or a bad guy? Did these events really happen? Why does God show mercy to people who seem undeserving of it? And as believers, do we have to participate in the gospel mission—even if we don’t want to?

These are serious questions that require equally serious, biblical answers, and the Word has clear answers for each of these.  Join us for this 4-week series as we investigate what God truly intends to teach us about his own heart and the purpose he has for us through Jonah’s unique journey.

If I am going to live on mission as God calls me to, I must…

…rest in him (v. 1-6)

Psalm 139:7-10

…fear him (v. 7-10)

Psalm 111:10

The remarkable thing about God is that when you fear God, you fear nothing else, whereas if you do not fear God, you fear everything else.
Oswald Chambers

…surrender to him (v. 11-17)

My utmost for his highest.
Oswald Chambers
