KATE HENRY

Children’s Ministry Assistant

Kate grew up in Glasgow, Scotland, in a Brethren church her whole family attended. In 2017, her parents decided to leave that church and look for a new church home. They landed at Harvest Glasgow, the only Harvest church in Scotland at the time.

Raised in a Christian family, Kate always knew about God and knew she loved him, but she didn’t really understand why.

In 2023–24, while studying at a Bible college in Portugal, Kate came to understand what it truly means to have a relationship with Jesus, to rely on him fully in every moment. That changed everything.

After her year away, she sensed a call to youth ministry. She has always loved working with children but feels a special burden for today’s youth. So when the opportunity arose to do a youth internship at Harvest Barrie, she took it and that eventually led to a position supporting children’s ministry.

One of Kate’s favourite passages is Psalm 34, especially verse 5: “Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.” It’s a powerful reminder that when we fix our eyes on Jesus, on his love, and on becoming more like him, we reflect his light more brightly to those around us. Rather than carrying the heavy weight of shame that sin brings, we shine with the radiance that comes from him.
