LINDSAY TSANG
ElderLindsay was born in Scarborough to parents who had recently immigrated from Hong Kong, and grew up in Markham before moving to Barrie in 2016 with his wife Kathleen. They chose Barrie as a midpoint between their families, not knowing anyone locally, but God soon knit them into the community at Harvest.
Lindsay came to faith at a young age through a Billy Graham children’s crusade and was baptized at 14. He says his faith truly took root at 16, when a men’s small group helped him understand the grace of Jesus not as something earned, but given while he was still a sinner. That realization sparked a passion to help others encounter Christ, leading him into evangelism and ministry throughout high school and university.
After earning degrees in Kinesiology and Education, Lindsay served with Power to Change – Students and later taught at Mississauga Christian Academy. Recognizing the need to help those facing deeper struggles, he completed a master’s in Counselling Psychology and later a Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology. Today, he owns and runs a private psychotherapy practice in Barrie that provides care for individuals and couples and includes a small team of therapists.
Since joining Harvest in 2016, Lindsay and Kathleen have served as Life Group leaders and hosts and now as coaches for the Young Adults ministry. He also teaches in Harvest Kids and occasionally speaks at men’s and apologetics events.
Married since 2015, Lindsay and Kathleen have four children: Harriet, Matilda, Jemima, and Augustine.
A verse that often guides Lindsay’s ministry is 2 Timothy 2:2 – “And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.” His passion is to teach the Word, form friendships, and help others grow in faith.
