Love Your Enemies
Enemy and love are two words that we don’t usually put together. But, as we will see on Sunday in Luke 6:27-36, Christ ties them up as he calls us to love our enemies.
This is so hard for us to wrap our heads around. Loving others on its own feels somewhat doable, but even that can be hard for us. So, loving our enemies really feels like an impossible task, doesn’t it? Truthfully, it is. If we attempt this on our own, we will fail at every try. When it comes to enemies, we typically lean more towards retaliation or resentment, not love … and certainly not mercy.
Thankfully the same is not true of God. So far in our Real Love series, we’ve seen that God is love, and in his love, it cannot be ignored that God is merciful. As we recognize this, it reshapes how we live, how we love, and even who we love.
Join us as we open God’s Word together this week, and see how his mercy for us will lead us to love … even loving our enemies. I look forward to seeing you and your family there! There is a seat for you at 7810 ON-89 in Alliston on Sunday at 4 p.m.

…expect nothing in return (v. 32-35a)
…point back to him (v. 35b-36)
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
