The More Zealously They Proclaimed It
I need help. This can be one of the most difficult things to say and admit for a lot of people. Yet, it’s often necessary. In this week’s passage through Mark 7:24-37, we’re introduced to two separate people who, though they are faced with somewhat varying circumstances, come to the point of realizing that they have a great need, and that need is Jesus. So, they approached Jesus and begged him for his help.
Typically, begging sounds to us like a negative or demeaning thing. But when it comes to Jesus and when we realize who it is that we are begging to for help, we should see things differently.
The truth is Jesus is the one we should turn to first and foremost in our lives, and we won’t ever regret doing so. When we come to Jesus as we are, we will always come out of it astonished beyond measure at the Saviour.

If I am going to be amazed at Jesus, I must recognize…
…I am helpless (v. 24-26, 31-32)
God sees us as we are, loves us as we are, and accepts us as we are. But by his grace, he does not leave us as we are.
Tim Keller
Seek Jesus…urgently.
Seek Jesus…earnestly.
Seek Jesus…humbly.
Matthew 7:7-11
…He is all-powerful (v. 27-30, 33-37)
