What moves you? When you are moved emotionally, it means you feel something that hits deep within. This can lead to inspiration, sympathy, and maybe even tears. Maybe it was a sad movie you watched that stirred you, or a song you heard that struck the right chord. It might have been a simple act of kindness, or someone’s story that you relate to. These are all things that most of us have probably experienced at some point. Even the “toughest” of us, right? Physically, what moves us is our bodies, made up of muscles and bones working together to help us perform tasks, build things, travel from one point to another, etc.

When you are moved both emotionally and physically, something powerful takes place. You don’t just feel…you respond with action. You’re compelled to do something, concerning whatever it is you are moved about. So, what about Jesus? Are you moved to live for him?

Last week, we saw how Jesus was moved to love for the young rich man he met. This is the same love that moved God to send Jesus to the earth: John 3:16, “For God so loved the world…” So, we know that God’s love is directed towards us, but his love also calls us to respond. It calls us to action.

Colossians 3:1-2

Luke 12:50

Serving Jesus his way…
#1 – It’s done out of love
#2 – It requires humility
#3 – It happens where God has placed you, using what he has given you
#4 – It demands sacrifice
