What’s something that captivates you or consumes you, something you are really into? Is it something like baking, cooking, pickleball, music, dance, gardening, sports, books, etc.? Whatever that thing is, are you into it because you enjoy it, or because a friend or spouse does? And what about Jesus? How into him are you really, and why?

In this week’s text though Mark 3:7-35, we’re going to see that crowds, demons, Jesus’ family, and scribes tried to define him on their own terms. It seemed like many people were into Jesus, but maybe only for what they felt they might gain from him. Join us this Sunday, as we continue our series through the Gospel of Mark, where we will examine whether we really are into Jesus as much as we say or think we are.

Text: Mark 3:7-35
November 17, 2024

How into Jesus am I, really? He challenges my tendency to…

…crave acceptance (v. 7-12)

John 8:12

…pursue success (v. 13-19)

…oppose him (v. 20-35)

Romans 11:29

A person who always has to be right has a fragile ego. Their self-esteem is so frail that if they are challenged, their ego cannot tolerate admitting a mistake. Instead, the person who must always be right will actually distort reality in their minds and twist it to protect themselves.
